| About Niv Ocean Shank |
| Hi. My full name is Niv Ocean Shank, but please call me Ocean. I’m originally from Israel where I began my photography career soon after completing my military service. I discovered early that photography was the perfect medium to combine my artistic expression with a developing love of intimate interaction with my subjects. I also love to travel, and my first stop was Milan. I spent two years touring Europe, shooting and absorbing the cultures. The influences from my time there will always be a strong symbol in my work. In 2007 I found myself living and working in New York and presently I divide my time between New York and Los Angeles. I’m following my vision to create images that are inspired from life, real people, and candid moments. I work mostly on location, love shooting with film and take great satisfaction from creating a fresh experience with each of my subjects. I feel indebted to all the wonderful people I have photographed for their role in my career, and life. I thank you all, and those yet to come, for being part of my continuing journey. ~Ocean~ |
